My thoughts on the last class session (6/29)

I absolutely loved these new, fresh expressions of the Church. I completely agree with the idea that “real church” isn’t just a service on Sunday, but rather, a community of believers. Many of the churches I have been to in Pasadena were very large churches.  “Church” seemed to be about just meeting on Sundays to worship God and hear the Word. I feel like Church should be more about trying to have people be more integrated into community rather than have them just come on Sunday Service.  In addition, fresh expressions like alternative worship reminded me of how the Jesuit missionaries spread the gospel. I believe that we should exercise our God-given creativity to rethink the church service to make it more accessible to others. I believe God’s fingerprints are already all over every space We may be able to reach more ears by redirecting the things already established in culture to God.
